The Indian community in China celebrated Rabindranath Tagore’s 164th birth anniversary and the 101st anniversary of his first visit to China.

To honour of legacy of Rabindranath Tagore, the Indian community in Eastern China Region on Sunday gathered large numbers to celebrate 164th birth anniversary of the philosopher. The Consulate General of India in Shanghai, Pratik Mathur, also attended the event.
The event also witnessed a solemn pledge ceremony at Consulate General of India today to remember and pay homage to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attacks.
Taking to X, the Consulate General of India official account tweeted, “On Rabindra Jayanti, a solemn pledge ceremony was held at Consulate General of India today to remember and pay homage to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attacks(sic).”

The event also celebrated 101st anniversary of Tagore’s first visit to China.
While referring to Pahalgam terror attack, CG Pratik Mathur reaffirmed India’s firm national resolve to fight terror with a zero tolerance.
“CG @PratikMathur1 reaffirmed our firm national resolve to fight terror with a zero tolerance approach as the nation has clearly manifested with Operation Sindoor. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! (sic),” the tweet further read.
“Indian community in Eastern China Region gathered today in large numbers to celebrate 164th birth anniversary of Gurudev and the 101st anniversary of his first visit to China. Speaking on the occasion CG @PratikMathur underlined the abiding relevance of Gurudev’s words and vision. Friends of India and lovers of Rabindra Sangeet gathered in large numbers for the function today (sic),” the CGI wrote in another tweet.
CG Mathur paid a floral tribute to Tagore as he delivered his message. The event also witnessed a dance, singing performance. Besides yoga was also promoted there. The crowd comprised of people from all age group
For the unversed, 26 people (mostly tourists) were killed in Pakistan orchestrarted terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Thereafter, India retaliated the killings, by launching ‘Operation Sindoor’, targetting several terror hideouts in Pakistan. With such a response, India has delivered a clear message to the world that it has zero tolerance for terrorism whatsoever.
